2017 USTL Fellows

Please join us in congratulating the 2017 recipients of the United States-Timor- Leste (USTL) Fellowship:

Danira Deolinda Corbafo da Costa
Ernania Bonifacia Amaral
Sofia Rana Sagran Husin

We would like to congratulate these remarkable fellows who received full funding to complete undergraduate degrees in the U.S. beginning August 2017. They were selected from almost 200 applicants for the fellowship this year. The program is funded by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, and administered by American Councils for International Education in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Dili.

USTL fellows are placed at U.S. universities and colleges that match their academic goals, provide outstanding support to international students, and meet the budgetary requirements of the USTL program. Students receive living stipends, insurance, and ongoing logistical support from American Councils staff throughout their four years of study in the U.S. The program begins with a pre-departure orientation at the U.S. Embassy and a two-day arrival orientation at the American Councils office in Washington, DC.

We had many outstanding applications for the 2017 fellowship awards! If you applied this year but did not receive funding, we hope you will consider applying next year. We will be announcing the application deadline for the 2017 fellowship in the very near future. Please continue to check here for updates and details.

Warmest congratulations to our 2017 USTL fellows!
