International Student Club

Posted on: 29 August 2022 BY: ASarmento

Hi all, I wanted to talk about the international student club in my college that I joined in the fall semester. This club has all the international students from different nationalities, races, languages, etc. I am so glad and excited that I got to interact with this student and talk about our country, culture, our experiences living in a foreign country, and to taste different food from their country. For this spring semester, we did a lot of trips which we went to cool places every weekend. We visited the Japanese Traditional's houses, we went to see the Cherry's blossoms. We went to the Rocky Mountains in Philadelphia, but the thing that I am most excited about is when we get the chance the visited the United Nations Headquarters in New York. When we get in front of the building, I saw Timor-Leste's flag waving and I was just standing there proud and happy because I get to see my country’s flag. We did a tour there, where we got see the General assembly hall, which is so huge and exciting, (but we did not see the UN Secretary-general), we saw all the Committee’ hall. Overall, it was so great to learn the history of the UN, the symbols that show a strong meaning to the world and all the people that gathered representing their country and sharing ideas about bringing sustainability to the world.
The best thing I am most excited about joining the international student club was experiencing unique styles of education, culture, people, getting to explore my interest and learn new things outside the classroom.
